Form Strategic Partnerships
Networking
Look for companies that are complementary to your own to potentially expand your contract. For example, if you offer catering services, you can partner with a venue. Participating in local food events and organizations are great ways to get the word out about your company while also connecting with individuals who may be able to help grow your business. Consider becoming a member of the following organizations that are applicable to you and attending any events or shows that they host:
National Restaurant Association
ReFED Food Waste Action Network
Queer Food Foundation (QFF) is a national nonprofit dedicated to uplifting LGBTQIA+ individuals across all areas of the food system
Nourish Cap: join group trainings related to culinary, medicinal, and therapeutic mushrooms and network with business leaders
Does your restaurant implement proven solutions for reducing food waste? Consider submitting a LOI for ReFED's Catalytic Grant Fund!
Attend Food Conventions
Exhibiting at a food convention is a great way to increase brand exposure and is an opportunity to network with industry professionals. Below are some conventions held in the Philadelphia area and surrounding states each year:
- Natural Products Expo East
- Summer Fancy Food Show
- Great Food Expo
- IFT First Expo
- Black Owned Business Networking and Vendor Expo
If you decide to exhibit at an event, the following companies can create custom materials to help deck out your booth with your branding:
- Next Day Flyers: banners, business cards, stickers, flyers, brochures, etc.
- Vispronet: custom tents, flags, banners, tablecloths, etc.
- M3 Printing: Full-service print business in Philadelphia.
